Save the Date: SUDAC and KFPE Annual Conference, 31 May, 12:30 – 17:30, PROGR BernSustainable, equitable partnerships in North-South collaboration - Lessons learned for future funding models.The SUDAC and KFPE annual conference is a meeting place for researchers and practitioners involved and interested in North-South research partnerships. The aim of this year’s event is to reflect on the state of current funding models for North-South collaboration in research and education, to discuss best practices for achieving equal partnerships and to explore possible designs for future funding instruments. The conference will feature keynote speakers, workshops and a panel discussion. More information will follow in due course on the KFPE website. Registrations will open in April.
Call for ideas for online workshopsAs part of the annual conference, we will be hosting a series of online workshops in the month before and after the event. The aim of the workshop series is to foster exchange and promote ideas around the topic of equitable, sustainable partnerships between Global South and North in research and education. Submit your workshop idea until the 8th of March.

| | | | Solution-Oriented Research for Development programme (SOR4D): eight projects fundedAt the end of the second call for projects, eight were solvated which will be funded with 7.5 million francs in total. SOR4D projects are thematically open but must contribute directly to the objectives of sustainable development. The selected projects cover a wide array of disciplines: from law to sociology; business economics to forestry and agricultural sciences; and political science to environmental sciences. Combating Over-Prescription of Antibiotics in Children: A Swiss-Tanzanian Digital Health Innovation with Promising Results A large-scale study by the DYNAMIC project has produced promising results: the use of a new digital clinical decision-making tool has led to a two- to three-fold reduction in the prescription of antibiotics. These results, just published in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Medicine, marks an important step towards curbing bacterial antimicrobial resistance. Read more
